About Crashfree India

The System Gap

India loses more than 177,000 lives on its roads every year — yet road safety efforts often remain fragmented across stakeholders, systems and states. Crashfree India works to bridge this gap by bringing together government, industry, and citizens around one shared mission: zero road fatalities.

Often the result of siloed efforts and processes, our work addresses the challenge of ensuring safer mobility nationwide through data-driven advocacy, research, and collaborative action.

Advocacy & Policy Reform

Translating field evidence into actionable insights for policy, from crash compensation to gig workers' road safety.

Safer Infrastructure

Auditing India's most crash-prone zones through Project Rakshak, turning youth-led road safety evidence into civic approvals and on-ground fixes.

Technology for Safety

AI-powered crash compensation navigation and community-driven hazard reporting through Sadak Suraksha Mitra.

Behavioural Change

Shifting road user behaviour through evidence-based awareness programs, stakeholder engagement, and research.

Gig Rider Safety

Gig riders are a living case study in India's two-wheeler safety crisis: a population working long hours on our roads, under greater pressure, and with less protection than almost any other road user. Researching the risks they face and produce to build the evidence base for targeted interventions that reduce crash risk for India's vulnerable road users.
